About The Stock Guy

First off, let me issue a disclaimer. I am not a professional stock trader or banker. I am also not a fortune teller. I am a graduate of the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. I am passionate about finance, investing and the internet, so I figured combining each of these areas in one site would be a good idea.
I ask that you do not make any investment decisions solely based on the opinions stated on this webite. Always consult an investment advisor before making any investment decisions. That being said, if you choose to read my website (and I hope you do), you should know the following:
I rank each stock I discuss from 1-10, here is an overview of what the ranking means:
1-3 -> I wouldn’t go near this stock
4-6 -> I might take a look at this stock for certain strategies
7-8 -> Definitely worth a good look
9-10 -> I have confidence this stock will perform well
I also try to remember to disclose each stock that I own. I usually end up recommending stocks that I own. I’m not doing this to try and drum up support for stocks that I invest in, but rather I tend to invest in stocks that I have a positive outlook on (this should be rather obvious).
I usually wont get very technical or complicated while analyzing a certain stock. If you want a technical analysis, get out a ruler and start drawing lines. The purpose of this website is to provide some unique ideas about certain stocks. I figure if my website gives you one or two insightful comments on a stock that you hadn’t considered before, I’ve done my job.
I’ll also tend to have a slight bias towards stocks which trade in Toronto (since I’m Canadian), but I’ll make sure that most of the companies which I write about also trade on the NYSE or NASDAQ.
I hope you enjoy my website and wish you the very best in all of your investments.
Sincerely,
The Stock Guy
